Vehicles in German City Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Officers mentioned they were alerted by a individual who noticed a car in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Around 50 cars have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Cars, exterior walls and postboxes were defaced, sometimes with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.

Officers state they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a individual observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.

The substance had been applied in the pattern of a swastika, they reported.

Police then discovered many other marked automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials report initial examinations indicate the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no clue as to where it came from; investigators are presently not cognizant of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they commented.

Municipal representatives stated they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the residents for information.

A high-ranking political figure said the attack made him without words and had to be resolved promptly.

"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the right-wing violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on social media, mentioning the death of nine people by a assailant targeting people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
